Is Slidebox free?

You can download it for free. Paid options are a subscription (about $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year in the US, with no free trial) or a one-time lifetime unlock. The App Store listing also notes the app contains ads.

Does swiping up delete the photo right away on iPhone?

No. Swiping up only marks it as trash inside Slidebox. When you delete Slidebox's trash, the photos are removed from your iPhone library on all devices and kept in Recently Deleted for 30 days.

Can I recover photos deleted with Slidebox on Android?

Photos in Slidebox's trash can be recovered. Once you delete the trash, they are removed from your device permanently and cannot be restored.

Does Slidebox back up my photos?

No. Slidebox had an optional backup service, but its release notes say it was retired on 1 February 2026. Use iCloud, Google Photos or another backup before deleting.

Are Slidebox albums the same as my phone's albums?

Yes. Albums created in Slidebox are created in your iOS Photos library or Android gallery. Removing an album from Slidebox only hides it in the app.
